Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and/or Certified Accountant (CA).
7 years of experience working in public accounting and/or in a technology organization.
Experience working with US GAAP, ASC 606.
Preferred qualifications:
7 years of experience in an accounting firm and/or public company.
Experience working with ASC 606 implementation and revenue recognition.
Ability to advance projects, manage ambiguity, and influence and align multiple stakeholders.
Ability to take initiative to build productive relationships and cross-functional connections.
Ability to work with minimal guidance and conduct technical accounting research, document findings, and articulate technical accounting guidance to non-technical audiences.

As a Technical Accounting Specialist, you will provide Accounting governance as Google Cloud to foster consistent and scalable decision making across Google Cloud. In this role, you will be a key player in the Google Cloud Controllership team supporting Google Cloud’s continued rapid growth.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
Perform technical research on complex accounting issues for Google Cloud and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP.
Drive the implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards, including working with various cross-functional stakeholders.
Draft and maintain global Google Cloud accounting policies.
Work business partners across Google Cloud alongside developments in accounting policies and positions through issuance of various frameworks, training sessions, and other meeting forums.
Be a key technical resource for the Google Cloud Accounting team.
