At Tesla the capability of our people is critical to helping achieve our mission. The Training Manager, Collision is responsible for leading and developing a team of trainers who facilitate world class training.
You’ll be a leader in driving our learning culture, achieving success by contributing equal parts strategic planning and execution to ensure Tesla’s learning and development programs are aligned to our overarching business strategy.
Accountable for the ongoing delivery of learning, you will ensure your team delivers a cohesive program of work that is strategically aligned to evolving business needs. You will bring a strong approach, ensuring ROI evaluation and measurements of success for learning programs are in place, and remain simple and effective.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop a team of trainers
Accountable for the facilitation of in person and virtual collision training programs, ensuring they are at a high level of quality
Create and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure optimal execution and delivery of training
Liaise with Collision training leadership across North America, EMEA and APAC
Liaise with the Analysis, Instructional Design, Training Technology, and Evaluation teams within the ADDIE process, realizing shared productivity and efficiencies
Manage fleet, tooling, and equipment for classroom and lab use
Order parts and consumables for training use
Earn and maintain expertise in Tesla products, liaise with engineering to stay up to date on product development and new product release.
Identify, onboard, and manage vendors
Stay current on industry trends and emerging functional practices, educational theories, and technical tools
Measure, report and provide insights to assist the business in the review of the effectiveness of programs.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the Human Resources Division, Learning and Development, and the business to align programs, prioritize resources, and support strategic objectives.
Ensure the security of Tesla employees, technology, intellectual property, and physical property
Ensure the safety of Tesla employees
Extensive Learning and Development
Extensive experience in the Collision Industry
Extensive knowledge/experience as a collision technician
Prior people management experience leading direct reports
Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships, influence outcomes and translate intent into learning solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
Proven ability to articulate a customer centric culture and exemplify behaviors at all levels of the organization.
Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
Adaptability, flexibility and preparedness to work in a dynamic environment responding to emerging risks, project challenges and achieve deadlines. Ability to interpret and analyze complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
Ability to travel as required.
Qualifications
Workday may often be spent engaging in repetitious duties like lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, and standing
Ability to work on computers, sit, and reach a screen
Ability to travel up to 50% of time
Valid Passport preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Repair preferred.
Capable of driving a forklift
Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as a Collision Repair Program Leader
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable

Must be at least 18 years of age
