Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience in Python, natural language processing, and Machine Learning algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, and/or natural language processing.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.

The mission of the Brain Applied Research (BAR) team is to generate growth in ML research and applications to transform product solutions and improve people’s lives.
The team collaborates with product areas across the organization to deliver research and product impact. We work on products like Google Translate, Speech Recognition, and more.

Responsibilities
Build reliable infrastructure for Machine Learning (ML).
Manage open-source software that is hosted on GitHub.
Operate across Google internal systems as well as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Research and prototype ML models and infrastructure, work with product teams to deploy what we build, and publish and/or report prototype results and experiments.
