About the job
This role focuses on securing on products and services that Google has acquired. Our goal is to uplift their security posture to meet Google’s product security expectations. We aim to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google’s users and developers through collaboration with product software engineers and partner security teams.
Information Security Engineers at Google have two goals: to find and prevent security vulnerabilities in new and existing products; and, more importantly, to promote good design and implementation practices that mitigate or prevent vulnerability classes.
Within Information Security Engineer (ISE) Acquisitions, you will perform security reviews and provide consultations, build open-source security solutions, and run remediation projects for acquired products and services. Your technical security analysis will highlight risks to product leadership and influence technology integration roadmaps. We remediate vulnerability classes and systemic patterns by establishing secure-by-default frameworks whenever possible. You will help design and build security solutions when we identify gaps or opportunities. We work on a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks with opportunities to specialize and perform research in a number of fields.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Responsibilities
Perform technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews.
Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Advocate security and secure practices throughout Google.
Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against Google’s products and services.
Be involved in offensive security exercises.
