In this role, you’ll be a part of the Communications Community, Operations and Experiences (COE) team which supports the global Communications organization through operational excellence, training and development programs, and managing internal community activities and external influencer events. It’s a collaborative and creative team who is just as likely to have an a-ha moment in a meeting as over lunch.
We are looking for a Senior Comms Manager that has a passion for global storytelling and a desire to develop innovative resources and experiences for our Global Events + News Planning program. This is a role for a strong communicator, with an analytical and customer-oriented mindset who can work across teams to interpret the company’s news strategy and build corresponding experiences that deliver the headlines we aspire to read. This person will have demonstrated news strategy expertise and an ability to drive alignment across distributed teams.
Responsibilities
Working with news owners and stakeholders to drive clarity and communication across Comms, Marketing and Events for each priority comms moment, ensuring that the end-to-end influencer experience aligns with larger One Microsoft vision and is consistent with the Influencer Experience program standards.
Lead a high performing team of communicators and vendors to support our News Operations and execute Priority News moments for the company
Drive global connection across priority news disclosures and events
Help others succeed and build on the work of others to strengthen our inclusive culture that is focused on empowerment, empathy, diversity.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in communications
Ability to manage complex projects in a fast-changing environment
Strong analytical and project management skills
Operating expertise with a track record of working collaboratively across all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively build partnerships, collaborate and drive alignment to achieve group-wide goals
Organizational skills with great attention to detail
Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries, multiple business partners, virtual teams, vendors, and agency partners
Growth mindset with proven track record for new, innovative approaches and smart risk taking
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to drive decision-making ensuring all voices are heard
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated virtual teams leadership and/or managing direct reports
Experience scaling and delivering programs globally
This position is based in Redmond, WA and will require some travel, domestic and international.
