The Amazon Payments Products team is responsible for developing the platform and applications used to introduce new and innovative payment methods to customers as well as support Amazon’s global CoBrand and Private label credit cards along with the world’s largest rewards catalog, Shop with Points. This team helps Amazon expand globally by providing platform for FX (Foreign Exchange) and enabling payments in multiple currencies.

The Amazon Payment Service Provider Program requires any seller who uses an external payment service to receive their Amazon sales proceeds to work with a PSP participating in PSPP.

This team is directly responsible to retain customer trust through our innovative approaches to leverage data to detect and mitigate fraud.

Key job responsibilities

• 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

A day in the life

As an Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers of different seniority, TPMs, Product Managers and Program Managers to understand unique aspects of this high-visibility program. You will get the opportunity to work on programs requiring design, implementation and scaling of new and existing services.

The projects you work on will positively impact almost all Amazon customers (both buyers and sellers), and the overall program has high visibility across Amazon’s leadership.

• MS or PhD is computer science or equivalent preferred
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Experience with system architecture/design, distributed systems operating in a scalable /high volume environment
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
