Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle Hardware Development (OHD) is looking for a Senior Manager with proven technical experience to lead an expert team of OS kernel and driver software engineers working on Linux, Windows and VMware to ensure all key hardware, firmware, and system functionality are working as designed and the OSs and drivers have enhanced capabilities to use Oracle value-added functionality. You will direct projects that bring to life next-generation and early access system hardware from the OS perspective. In particular, you will

• Manage technology, people, schedules and resources for several concurrent projects
• Facilitate cross functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, systems management and quality teams.
• Deliver complex products on-time and with high quality
• Facilitate the resolution of complex problems hindering optimal operation of the system from the OSs perspective, collaborating with our Oracle Cloud and Engineered Systems internal partners.
• Interface with CPU vendors, hardware suppliers, internal/external OS teams, and IO Suppliers to drive requirements, proactively plan for new Oracle feature support, and to drive debug and delivery of enhancements and fixes.
• Agile and flexible technical management in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience managing 6 or more software engineers
• Strong understanding of Intel, AMD or ARM based systems architectures
• Experience with linux kernel and open-source development paradigms
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and oral presentations to engineering teams and executive management
• Provide leadership, direction and strategy
• Well organized and able to multitask between projects and issues
