The Learning Design Lead uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Learning Design Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Learning Design Lead analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness. Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner’s satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement. Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning. Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in adult learning and training program design and delivery

Minimum 2 years of experience leading or managing projects/initiatives

Experience with e-learning tools (Vyond, Articulate, etc.) for design

Demonstrated experience consulting with technical leaders and subject-matter experts to assess learning needs and designing learning solutions

Skilled in using Microsoft suite of products

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings

Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 25×10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) for optimal performance of is required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Learning and Performance; Education; Human Resources, Organizational Design or Related field.

Prior demonstrated capability leading, developing, and maintaining a dynamic and high performing team culture.

Work experience in a health care and / or Insurance setting

Learning and design in an operations setting

Experience with Power BI or other data analysis and visualization tools
