Responsibilities
Planning and Engagement
Collaborates with sales teams within Microsoft and advises on digital transformation for purposes of account planning. Engages with internal and external stakeholders on account planning and reviews plans for targeted accounts.
Leverages the internal stakeholder network to engage external stakeholders. Continues to build own network of external stakeholders to execute on account plans. Shares best practices in stakeholder management across industries.
Sales Execution
Identifies customer business needs within assigned accounts/industry and provides guidance to stakeholders by recognizing business industry readiness and collaborating with senior industry experts to recommend solutions, products, and/or services that align with customers’ needs.
Collaborates with account teams and internal resources to identify, generate, and nurture new opportunities. Engages senior business or technical decision makers at the customer’s business to translate opportunities into sales. Executes localization of worldwide play into the field to drive for scale.
Leverages strong knowledge of Microsoft’s platform expertise and credentials and industry experience to engage customer business decision makers and articulate Microsoft’s unique business value as they increase their digital presence. Leverages industry knowledge/expertise to appropriately position Microsoft platform and partner solutions with customers.
Initiates conversations with strategic customers on digital transformation, provides demonstrations, and shows business cases. Identifies opportunities to drive growth with new and existing customers by collaborating with internal teams. Identifies common industry requirements with high business impact for ideation internally (e.g., Digital Win Room [DWR]).
Seeks feedback from customers and partners (both formally and informally) to identify and understand drivers of satisfaction and dissatisfaction and to provide recommendations. Reviews feedback report, collaborates with team members, and involves other internal teams in establishing action plans to address satisfaction concerns and improve overall experience.
Develops content for industry events and other activities/presentations/customer events (e.g., medium scale, regional, medium impact) to showcase Microsoft’s and partner’s products, services, and cloud solutions (e.g., demonstrations, proof of concept [POC] presentations). Leverages such engagements to craft industry solution opportunities, working and selling closely with Microsoft’s partners. Shares experiences to mentor junior colleagues.
Completes necessary training to obtain relevant product and role certifications that are aligned to the industry solutions discipline, the respective role (e.g., industry advocates) and to the industry itself. Seeks additional training to build skills and knowledge base.
Collaborates with senior industry solutions experts to develop educational training activities and materials (e.g., of the industry, the customer, partners) and provide solution maps and customer scenarios to assist in sales and engagements. Makes suggestions to improve learning. Initiates conversations with prospective customers/partners at events to expand external network.
Partner Management and Collaboration
Collaborates with partners to develop joint proposals and partner strategies that address gaps in their capabilities by driving pipeline for build-with, identifying future requirements for partners, etc.
Collaborates with partners to jointly build out their industry solution portfolio/map and comprehensively solve customers’ challenges attached to customer opportunities. Adopts existing industry portfolio to our platform. Collaborates with a network of partners in upselling/cross-selling opportunities of products, services, and solutions by developing partners. Collaborates with partner teams (e.g., One Commercial Partner [OCP]) to carry out competitive recruiting of new partners and helps current partners to understand the industry and develop solutions within that industry. Identifies new potential partners. Coaches junior colleagues in building partner network.
Technical Expertise
Participates in internal community (e.g., v-teams, Account Technology Unit [ATU]) discussions and conversations. Connects with counterparts around the world (mainly informally), to share lessons learned on solutions. Extends relationships with peers and senior team members across solution areas. Creates connections at community events. Makes suggestions to improve technical communities.
Continually builds and maintains knowledge of Microsoft’s and industry-relevant solutions, services, and capabilities, as well as of the industry and competitors. Collaborates with senior industry experts to implement strategies that position Microsoft against competitors. Continuously nurtures and expand sales, industry, technology, and competitive knowledge and capabilities. Participates in industry communities.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
4+ years proven experience working in K12 industry domain
OR Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 1+ year(s) experience working in an industry domain.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
5+ years proven experience working in a relevant industry domain
OR Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 4+ years proven experience working in a relevant industry domain
OR Master’s Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 2+ years of proven experience working in a relevant industry domain.
4+ years proven solution or services sales experience in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education)
OR 4+ years proven experience in deep industry role.
Experience in business planning and budget management.
