Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 11 years of experience in advertising, marketing, digital media, and/or sales.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in people management or growing a team toward shared goals.
- Experience influencing executive level clients and stakeholders in a sales management capacity.
- Experience in marketing or advertising within the food, beverages, or restaurants industry.
- Knowledge of full-funnel marketing strategies and media, including online-to-offline, e-commerce, TV, and digital video.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to create and further develop existing relationships and business.

Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. As Head of Industry, you will lead and strengthen a sales team focused on a small set of large advertisers. In this role, you’ll lead by inspiring the team with a compelling vision for how we can identify client business challenges in order to deliver value to our customers. You’ll run the day-to-day operations for your team by setting clear goals, and helping the team to clear roadblocks.
You’ll collaborate effectively with fellow managers, partner with sales leadership to set vertical wide strategic objectives, and build relationships across the Google network. Actively engaged with clients and agencies, you will build the business and develop a reputation for thought leadership and industry change while demonstrating how Google products can enhance and transform businesses.
Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We’re uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google’s broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage the core Sales team and engage with cross-functional talent to deliver insights, ideas, and customer service that drives business growth for our clients and for Google.
- Develop and foster C-level relationships across the business.
- Analyze data trends and client performance, develop solid strategic plans, and lead preparation and delivery of strategic presentations and narratives.
- Partner with leaders of other teams to develop thought leadership that equips teams across Large Customer Sales to deliver excellent business growth.
- Attract, develop, and retain talent in all roles across the team.
