Amazon is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at either of Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington or Arlington, Virginia. This position will support FP&A functions focused on corporate business planning and expansion strategy.
The Financial Analyst will own several key reporting deliverables related to the financial performance of Amazon’s corporate functions (Legal, Public Policy, Public Relations, etc.). These deliverables will directly inform decision-making by Amazon’s finance executives. The role will also manage corporate headcount modeling to inform real estate planning and the expansion needs of Amazon businesses.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively. This Analyst will be a creative and analytical problem solver with the opportunity to play a key role in shaping Amazon’s future expansion and business planning alongside senior leaders.
Key job responsibilities
Maintain financial models focused on headcount and growth planning for all Amazon corporate locations globally
Analyze and prepare monthly variance reports for senior leadership; present findings and recommendations to senior leaders
Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to assemble growth plans and supporting insights (stakeholder functions include finance, real estate, economic development, human resources, public relations, etc.)
Produce ad-hoc analyses and assist in various planning activities related to Amazon’s corporate expansion
Experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, and/or organizational planning
Advanced skills in Excel modeling and report building
Comfortable with large volumes of complex data and presenting findings to managers in both written and verbal forms
Experience with Cognos TM1, Essbase or/or similar financial reporting systems
Familiarity with basic coding languages (e.g., SQL, R, etc.) and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce error-free deliverables with minimal oversight
Adept at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across different business functions in multiple locations
