We are a Cross Platform Player team responsible for building agnostic framework to enable Prime Video playback experience for Live Events and Video on Demand. Our software is designed to work seamlessly on a variety of devices to accommodate playback in different network conditions and across various customer experiences.

Key job responsibilities

You will be responsible for contributing to the teams technical vision, design, development and improve performance.

The following experience is a plus but not required:

• Mobile or web development
• Multimedia software development, and/or knowledge of audio/video codecs (AVC, HEVC, AAC, AC-3)
• DRM technologies (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady),
• Streaming technologies (DASH, HLS, SmoothStreaming) and media container formats.

About the team

The Prime Video Cross Platform Player team owns the playback device agnostic framework to enable customers around the world to watch videos on Smart TVs, Set Top Boxes, desktop computers, tablets, Chromecast and web browsers.

We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to help us build the best video playback experiences for Amazon customers.

• Understanding of streaming video concepts
• Experience with modular JavaScript or TypeScript
• Enthusiastic about building customer facing products

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,700- $194,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
