The role of a Sr Packaging Sustainability Technical Program Manager is to drive execution of environmentally responsible packaging in support of Amazon’s Climate Pledge, new product launches and sustaining packaging programs. This includes schedule creation and coordination with inter-disciplinary teams to ensure Sustainability goals and initiatives are developed, tracked and approved on-time. In addition to creating the packaging sustainability plan, which includes a global work-back schedule for structural development, testing, and builds (i.e. pack outs), the role requires Bill of Material (BOM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system support.
They work closely with Device Sustainability, Industrial Design, Global Commodity Management, Supplier Quality Management and Operations teams located in both the US and internationally throughout the design cycle. They are responsible for driving the development of packaging part manufacturing processes towards Marketing and UX Design intent. They are also responsible for providing early engagement design recommendations, driving detailed engineering studies, and continuously driving towards yield and cycle time targets ahead of mass production.
