AWS is seeking an experienced copywriter and to write, edit, and project manage the production of high-quality content that will help customers learn about the cloud, and tell important stories about AWS services across a variety use cases. In this role, you will create customer-facing copy that adheres to best practices and quality standards, with a key focus on customer experience and search engine optimization. You will also participate in the definition and testing of best practices, standards, and guidance for copy in AWS digital marketing. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in AWS, a subsidiary of Amazon.com and a global leader in cloud computing.
To succeed, you need to be an excellent writer and creative thinker with a passion for technology. To be the ideal candidate, you also need a passion for UX and user experience research. You will adapt technical information to make it relevant to a variety of audiences, and you will work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive consistency across a wide assortment of complex deliverables. You will also be proficient within a corporate environment, juggling the needs of internal and external stakeholders, style and branding guidelines, and legal requirements among other priorities. You will learn new tools and processes quickly, and you will apply solid project management, interpersonal, and written communication skills as you work.
A presence in Seattle is preferred, but for the right candidate, this role is open to seating at any US-based AWS corporate office. Relocation assistance to one of these locations from within the US only.
Key job responsibilities
- Write and edit customer-facing copy for the AWS Marketing Website to support marketing strategy and initiatives, including Search Engine Optimization and acquisition
- Translate technical concepts and information for multiple customer types and use cases
- Perform all levels of edit on written materials, to include both existing and net new content
- Ensure correct and consistent usage of AWS style, branding, and naming conventions
- Work with UX designers and researchers to support consistent copy improvement, including UI copy
- Deliver according to published Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and tight deadlines
- Collaborate with marketers, technologists, and subject matter experts to prioritize and develop new content
