External Job Description
The Special Programs, Evaluations, and Response (SPEAR) Special Testing Team (STT) engages in information gathering exercises and uses this information to drive change to the physical security posture of Amazon Web Services (AWS) sites. STT core functions include identifying, assessing and reporting security concerns and best practices to leadership and internal customers. SPEAR/STT applies appropriate assessment methodologies to evaluate security measures as well as operational risks to our employees, customer data, and physical assets.
You will be managing tight deadlines, being extremely flexible, driving results, focusing on details; and identifying, assessing, planning and coordinating operational activities related to the physical security of AWS and its internal customers. This includes maintaining a high degree of situational awareness in a wide variety of global environments. You will be innovative, creative, self-directed, open to new challenges, extremely good at multi-tasking, and a great team player. You will drive continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with cross-functional business teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.
You will be required to follow the policies, procedures, and the team’s rules of engagement without deviation. You will deal effectively with ambiguity, lead planning efforts, make decisions, and manage operational activities that are extremely fluid. The SPEAR team operates globally 24/7. Travel could account for 50-75% of your time, sometimes with little notice. Must have ability to work any/all times of day/shifts.
STT members must be effective 360 degree leaders, demonstrating excellent judgment while under pressure. They will use creative innovation to solve problems. STT members must also be able to operate autonomously, use discretion when dealing with sensitive information, and apply sound business principles with data analysis to identify problems and apply appropriate actions.
You must be able to perform a variety of physical activities, must be willing to work in austere environments, and must be able to work calmly through stressful situations.
