Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies
is hiring Entry Level Claims Adjusters in the Summerlin, NV area. In this position you will learn how to conduct office investigations and adjust insurance claims for either Workers’ Compensation, Homeowners, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, or General Liability products. If you have previous customer service experience and at minimum a high school diploma, then we will train you to become a claims adjuster!

Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Investigating losses and determining coverage while providing superior customer service
  • Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and records
  • Establishing damages and reserves
  • Processing payments
  • Taking statements from insured customer and any witnesses
  • Evaluating policies and contract language to identify coverage issues
  • Drafting no coverage letters
  • Participating in catastrophic claim handling protocols

Qualifications:


Qualifications:
  • Customer facing service experience (in-person or phone) is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience adjusting property claims is preferred, but not required
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must successfully pass Adjuster licensing exam upon hire (then obtain & maintain any other adjuster licenses as required.) *Company covers the cost of the exam, study materials, and provides a week for self-study to prepare for the exam
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • The ability to make decisions independently and to multitask
