WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
First Reporting Specialist
Responsible for meeting established data entry quality, production, and timeliness goals for intake of First Reports of Injury for the Claims Department.
WHAT YOU’D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Screens First Report of Injury mail.
Inputs new claims into the claims system
Checks new claims for policy coverage; escalates issues to the Underwriting team for resolution.
Performs quality checks on all new claims completed by vendors, entering/correcting information where necessary.
Processes and mail initial contact letters to all new setups.

HOW YOU’D FIT IN
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATH ABILITY: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of office operations, workflow analysis, data entry, and file management.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft word processing software; and be proficient in applicable databases, systems, and vendor software programs.
