Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Analyst to join our Casualty Home Office team offering broad exposure across all levels of a dynamic and rapidly growing global insurer. In this newly created role, we are seeking a detail-oriented strategic thinker to drive automation efforts as well as implementing and managing efficient processes and best practices. This position will be located in one of our regional offices in Boston, Chicago or Atlanta. For the right candidate, we will also consider other BHSI office locations.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation and amendment of form/endorsement development process by collaborating with various stakeholders
  • Direct all aspects of casualty underwriting training including developing content by working closely with the product leaders of General Casualty, Products, Construction, Environmental and Energy
  • Control underwriting audit activity including coordinating field and manager audits
  • Conduct audits for admitted proprietary and ISO Auto, Umbrella and General Liability products
  • Supervise agenda development for all major NA Casualty meetings
  • Coordinate the onboarding of New Hires including arranging access to various third-party platforms
  • Enhance and update existing tools and guides by working with various underwriting stakeholders
  • Help identify and correct underwriting process gaps


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience
  • Demonstrated integrity, passion for excellence, collaboration across functions
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills; ability to work in team environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Quick learner, flexible and adaptable to changing environment
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and accompanying workflows
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals and teams
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft SharePoint
