Work with Product Designers to implement the next generation of Facebook’s products
Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
Identify and address performance bottlenecks
Participate in design and code reviews
Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations
Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Measure and improve reliability of Facebook’s architecture
Build tools for engineering team to use to monitor and maintain reliability
Build software web applications and UI/UX features that reach over a billion users
Work on core Facebook software products such as News Feed, Profiles, Ads, and Messaging
Build user interfaces of the products, design the products’ technical architectures, and contribute to the product design
Perform front-end design to help shape and develop the look and feel as well as functionalities of interactive online software applications
Update and create new front-end for Facebook products
Work across platforms to create technology solutions that leverage Facebook’s existing internal systems and infrastructures
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, or 6 months of experience in each of the following:
JavaScript and React
Web technologies: HTML and CSS
Writing reusable and high-performance user interface components
Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks, such as Prototype JS, MooTools, or Dojo
Architectural design for complex front-end systems
Performance debugging and benchmarking
Building web applications
Implementing automated testing for front-end code
