Global Network Operations Manager Responsibilities:
Build and support a team of exceptional network operations engineers that manage infrastructure across company owned & operated data centers and leased colocation facilities
Manage the oversight of a complex global workforce composed of employees, contractors, and external vendors
Enable extreme ownership of incident response and problem management for a high volume of daily escalation requests across multiple tiers of support from managed
Ensure operational best practices for a global multi-vendor network that includes backbone, metro, peering, transit, circuits, edge fabric, off-net CDN, and Points of Presence(PoPs)
Develop and maintain operational processes and procedures to ensure predictable and timely fault response & resolution and proactive maintenance
Develop operational metrics and drive positive change based on data driven decisions
Ensure service level objectives are met for the global network as well as third party response and resolution
Directly manage team members to automate workflows to ensure sub-linear team growth compared to business growth
Partner with and build high quality relationships with other Meta teams
15% of travel (domestic and international)
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of network operations experience on large-scale networks
8+ years of direct people management experience
Experience analyzing complex technical situations, troubleshooting systems, tools, and organizations, and implementing robust solutions that address the underlying problem
Experience working on routing and switching platforms, IP routing protocols, and automation
Demonstrated experience setting and managing KPIs and SLOs
Experience selecting managed service providers and improving their performance via operational reviews, contract modification, data trend analysis, and automation/tooling feature enhancements
Communication experience and demonstrated experience to influence design and engineering teams to integrate operational feedback into infrastructure investment strategy and hardware platform selection
Preferred Qualifications:
Enabling adoption and team skill up leveling around automation, data science, and coding knowledge domains in a network operations environment
Demonstrated experience to create an inclusive environment of automation first
Experience managing a global vendor workforce to include financial management and operational performance management at the strategic and tactical levels
Experience leading and maturing teams in a fast-paced company that has experienced exponential growth
