Facebook App Looking For Network Engineer, Automation and Tooling at Fremont, CA

Meta is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Edge and Network Services team. This team is responsible for deploying and supporting one of the world’s largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for conceiving, developing and launching tools to support network deployment, maintenance, and scale of data center and edge infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of global networking at Meta.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools to support network deployment and operations.

Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/orgs, come up with the execution plan and drive the project and influence other teams to reach there.

Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events.

Help make the people around you move faster by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address them.

Lead/mentor other folks within and outside of the team. Work with other team members from partner teams, understand their challenges, define and deliver automation solutions to address challenges.

Help with recruiting and onboarding of new members to the team. Help them by mentoring and assuring their quick ramp up within our environment.

Drive requirements with vendors and third parties to align our internal tooling efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

10+ years of experience building software for network infrastructure

Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, Ruby, Perl, or C++)

Knowledge of Linux OS/networking

Knowledge of SQL databases

Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and knowledge of network routing protocols

Experience with design and implementation of network operation system

Experience debugging issues within custom code

Knowledge of technology-agnostic approach to engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
