Product Policy Associate Manager Responsibilities:
Support the launch of new products by providing policy guidance and analysis on issues ranging from integrity to safety to fairness to human rights.
Provide ongoing product counseling for new features for a variety of Developer Platform products, such as Facebook and Instagram APIs, Messenger Platform and Messenger API for Instagram.
Identify and analyze new policy development needs, draft policies, and work with Operations teams to build and refine enforcement flows as needed for these products.
Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams such as Product, Public Policy, Partnerships, Operations, Marketing, Communications, and Legal.
Help articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Act as a global escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Legal, Political Science, or related field.
Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving experience.
Experience with product development lifecycle or product teams.
Experience working in a highly matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in public policy, policy development, government, law, or enforcement with an emphasis on products, technology or media regulation.
Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Public Administration, Political Science, or similar field.
Experience working on or with online products, including messaging products, or with developers.
Experience with providing policy risk assessment on new products.
