Help develop and refine principles and policies related to products designed for content creators, News publishers and/or the distribution of content on Facebook products (with a particular focus on issues like content that Facebook recommends to users).
Review global products, features, and initiatives to provide practical strategies across multiple jurisdiction, understanding unique policy risks and benefits raised by different jurisdiction.
Collaborate with product partners to help build and refine products that meet the goals of the Product and Policy teams.
Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Product Management, Communications, Marketing, Media Partnerships, and Legal.
Act as a global escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for product policy issues.
Help articulate policy philosophy, product launches, and product changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Work with Facebook’s global Public Policy team, as well as external stakeholders, to monitor the global environment for policy issues that impact content on our platform.
Bachelor’s degree in Policy, Law, Technology, Media, Journalism or related field of study.
8+ years of relevant work experience in policy, law, media, government, or journalism with an emphasis on platforms and technology, media regulation, and/or news publishing.
Experience with international, multi-jurisdictional issues.
Experience with analytical-thinking and problem-solving.
Experience working cross-functionally and consensus-building, including managing multi-stakeholder projects.
Experience with regularly handling and prioritizing multiple complex projects.
Advanced degree in public policy, law (particularly with experience in free expression/First Amendment or other media-related legal issues), or journalism.
Experience working or studying outside of the United States, or focused on international issues from the United States, particularly international issues related to media, technology, or policy.
Understanding of Facebook products and principles.
