Perform research to advance the science, technology, and understanding of security and privacy.
Influence progress of relevant research communities by publishing and developing open-source software.
Engage with product, legal, and policy teams to help them develop informed approaches.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in the field of Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Research experience in security and privacy.
Coding experience in Python, C, C++, C#, Rust, or other similar language.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by fellowships, patents, journal articles or publications at conferences such as PETS, S&P, CCS, CSF, POST, USENIX Security, UAI, AISTATS, FAccT, ICIS, SIGSAC, or similar.
Established member of the research community, as exhibited by activities such as serving on conference or paper review committees, developing widely-used software packages, or contributing to laws and regulations.
International recognition of work in security and privacy as demonstrated by awards, prizes, press mentions, advisory positions, committee memberships, or organization leadership.
Research and software engineering experience demonstrated via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or open-source contributions.
Experience driving a long-term research program.
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
