Facebook’s Spatial Computing team is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team!
In this position, you will work within the Spatial Computing team and work on data pipelines related to the team’s highly visible population density data streams. This work gets used by crisis response and humanitarian organizations all over the world.
This individual will be working with high-volume data in a highly distributed computing environment. The work will mostly revolve around the High-Resolution Settlement Layer (HRSL) and the Disaster Mapping Pipelines. Producing our HRSL data involves working in a python-heavy, distributed, computing environment with high-resolution satellite imagery on one side and geospatial data on the other end. Being able to write, maintain, and optimize scalable python code is crucial to this. For the disaster mapping efforts, the work mostly revolves around data pipeline optimizations and maintenance.
