Documentation is a priority focus for Facebook’s Enterprise Products organization as we scale and support a growing product catalogue. The Documentation Manager will have the opportunity to underpin this growth through key technical initiatives and alignment.
Manage a high-performing team to create engaging and effective documentation for technologies and tools used internally and externally
Partner with Engineering and other cross-functional leadership to establish priorities, strategy, and communicate regular updates on documentation initiatives
Manage expectations of all interested parties: define clear schedules with key deliverables and milestone dates, identify and communicate risks and adjustments to the overall documentation deliverables
Develop and implement key performance indicators to track progress to key metrics and goals
Hire and develop new documentation team members
8+ years experience in technical documentation, and/or developer outreach for a developer audience
4+ years of experience managing a team
4+ years of experience independently driving technical documentation projects and authoring tools
Experience organizing content in a logical flow
Demonstrated experience in comprehensive technical documentation, proofreading, and editing
Experience partnering with Engineering leadership to establish priorities, strategy, and communicate regular updates on documentation initiatives
Proficiency in technical documentation across multiple programming languages based on an understanding of coding and object-oriented design principles
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication or a related discipline
Experience writing code
