About the team:
The Investigations Analytics team specializes in analyzing patterns, understanding threats, uncovering and investigating violations. Our team partners closely with data science, ops, product and engineering teams to anticipate and investigate potential threats to our platform. Successful candidates for this team are problem solvers, adaptable, equipped with strong analytical skills to approach varied challenges in complex environments, and can successfully work across various teams.
Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data presentation to see beyond the numbers
Monitor events through dashboards, detect anomalies, and conduct deep dive analysis on specific issues to understand root cause
Willingness to get hands dirty to review samples to understand the MOs used by bad actors and translate findings into data-driven rules/strategies to prevent bad activity on facebook commerce
Communicate to broad cross-functional teams the issue, remediation, and next steps in time-sensitive situations
Partner closely with ops investigations and enforcement teams to collaborate on insights and recommendations to ensure they are actionable
Own investigation requests from product team
Become a subject matter expert in workflows spanning a variety of integrity disciplines
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Economics, or equivalent practical experience
2+ years of post-college experience doing analysis using quantitative methods and deep dive case reviews to draw conclusions
2+ years experience working in an adversarial space, for example financial fraud, risk mitigation, spam, or product abuse
Experience manipulating large data sets in SQL or equivalent, and drawing actionable insights from data
Basic understanding of statistical methods
Experience constructing interpersonal relationships across teams, communicate technical content and analytical insights to multiple audiences
Critical thinking and problem solving experience
Experience in a similar role and at an Internet-based company
Advanced degrees
Development experience in any scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.)
Interest in protecting the most vulnerable users on Facebook with deep interest in understanding user behavior and utilizing data to mitigate safety risk
