Translation technologies break language barriers and make content in any language accessible to people. In addition, audio and video are increasingly popular input modalities for interactions with phones and other devices. Speech translation enables live communication between people speaking different languages and enables understanding of multimedia input in different languages.The team, part of Facebook AI Research, will support research in real-time speech to speech translation. In this role, you will work closely with other scientists and engineers on the team to push the frontiers of speech-to-speech translation modeling.
Develop novel model for speech to speech translation.
Collaborate with other FAIR scientists and engineers.
Publish academic papers at top conferences.
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science or related field.
Experience with deep learning models in NLP and Speech.
Experience with Pytorch.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Research and software engineer experience demonstrated via grants, fellowships, patents, internship, work experience, and/or coding competitions.
Research experience with ASR, MT, and TTS.
First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, ICASSP, INTERSPEECH, or similar).
