The Stability team within Solutions Engineering is looking for an entrepreneurial leader with a passion for identifying opportunities and solving for business gaps. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers who work directly to keep Facebook’s advertising system stable for our largest clients and use your experience to help the team build solutions at scale for all clients. This role will allow you to apply problem solving, cross functional leadership and consultative skills in creating and executing on ad-tech strategy while leading a team of Engineers, and growing their careers.Facebook’s Solutions Engineering team is composed of creative problem solvers and strategic software engineers who collaborate with clients to understand their challenges and architect solutions. We are at the cross function of business and engineering helping Facebook’s marketing and advertising partners succeed and reach their business goals with Facebook products, by finding technology solutions to meet their needs. We are passionate about working closely with our external clients and partners across many industries — travel, retail, e-commerce, gaming, financial services, automotive, entertainment and beyond.
Scale the team by attracting and mentoring people at various levels of experience to grow a diverse, inclusive and high performing team around business/team needs
Communicate across functions, influence the roadmap and product development
Understand advertisers’ business challenges to define and drive strategies to help businesses grow at scale
Bring unique insights from industry, verticals and audience segments to fill a void that exists in our platform
Help clients, partners to be successful on FB platform through consulting or building scaled solutions
Manage team performance, including coaching for career growth, proactively diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and create a healthy team environment with a focus on building internal community
Effectively communicate team goals and provide resources required to achieve goals while removing roadblocks along the way
Set clear expectations for all team members, hold them accountable to agreed upon goals, and provide guidance on it maps to their work
Design and build extensible systems and improve current frameworks that support future projects, including designing sophisticated launch-plan strategies focused on long term maintainability
Conduct Code reviews and provide thoughtful, meaningful, and constructive feedback
Willingness to travel 25% of the time
14+ years of work experience in software engineering, including 6+ years of proven hands-on technical management experience of software engineers
Experience with designing, building, and iterating on scalable software platforms applications and taking products from a nascent state to a level of maturity
Experience building consensus within large cross-functional organizations
Experience proactively identifying and executing organizational, product improvements across several teams
Experience in translating technical concepts into language for audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience
