Mission of the Social Impact team at Facebook is to empower everyone to make the world a better place through the Facebook Family of Apps. The Health Vertical within Social Impact focuses on bringing people and organizations together to improve health outcomes. We do this by bringing experts together across disciplines (e.g. public health, UX Research) to identify and prioritize opportunities and by empowering public health professionals with online tools and data to inform decisions and improve lives. As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the Health Vertical, you will play an integral role working closely with the product team, cross-company/cross-functional teams and external partners to enable experiences to drive key outcomes – including maturing our graph of high quality sources of health information, scaling topical classification, driving measurement, infra and integrity initiatives. The team also focuses around large-scale events, such as global vaccination campaigns, messaging strategies that achieve public health goals. TPMs at Facebook are expected to dive deep into domains; collaborate with subject matter experts, partners, and key internal product stakeholders; provide tools and services that will increase efficiency and improve the productivity and experience of users and the business teams they work with; ruthlessly prioritize and drive execution. This role allows for a high degree of ownership of processes and solutions, along with the ability to make positive change every day.
Understand Health Vertical space within Social Impact and proactively define areas to drive impact at the team-level
Help drive program objectives and roadmaps to align with Preventive Health & Quality team initiatives and manage execution of global Preventive Health campaigns
Effectively influence stakeholders, and negotiate trade-offs to drive forward progress
Interface with engineering, data science, data engineering, research and product owners to understand requirements and lead execution
Coordinating across a large number of cross functional partners, especially other SWE, UXR, DS, DE, Ops, Privacy, Legal, Policy and Partnerships teams
Effectively communicate plans, progress, blockers and ensure broad knowledge of their team’s work across the organization
Monitor integrity, risk, and change management across projects
Drive internal and external process improvements across engineering and product teams
Develop metrics to help the team clearly understand opportunity areas and identify product direction and ensure quality and reliability of these metrics
B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
Organizational, coordination, and multi-tasking experience.
Analytical and problem-solving experience with systems.
Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
Experience with data (governance, quality, mapping), databases and tools
Experience or interest in Health ecosystems space
Experience working in a fast-paced, tech focused, web/internet start-up environment
Experience working on measurement systems and infra (human labeling, online signals or surveys)
Exposure to working with data pipelines, integrity automation and ML problems
