Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of work experience in a related field of Ad security and quality control, Ad Operations, Programmatic buying, Analytics or Consulting
- Experience with databases and querying languages (SQL, MySQL).
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
- Experience working with platforms such as DV3, Authorized Buyers, GAM, or equivalent in a quality control or security/fraud capacity
- Experience with fraud risk management and investigations, Ad Security and Quality control, Ad call chain debugging and/or Ad Operations.
- Familiarity in one or more of the following areas: querying (SQL), scripting language (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript), HTML
- Understanding of the programmatic ad serving process.
- Demonstrated ability to identify workflow pain points, optimize and scale processes.
About the job
Malvertising (a portmanteau of “malicious advertising”) is the use of online advertising to spread malware. Malvertising involves injecting malicious or malware-laden advertisements into legitimate online advertising networks and webpages.
The Anti-malvertising team analyzes the intent of bad actors on Google ads systems, probes and uncovers attack mechanisms to spread malware, and takes corrective action, developing defensible systems while building automation to catch bad actors at scale. We work closely with internal and external partners to help build better ads defense systems.
In this role, you will be working with Product Managers, Software Engineers (Machine Learning/Anti-Abuse and Security Engineers), Policy, Sales, and Review teams in devising strategy to outsmart the adversaries. Specifically, you will be working on developing data driven insights to improve the review operations, identify new trends in Malvertising, and automate processes and enforcement. You will also work on feature engineering or signal development of Machine Learning model improvements, reverse engineering JavaScript, develop intelligence on threat actors, etc., to stay one step ahead of the adversaries.

Responsibilities
- Assess and optimize the advertiser onboarding and appeals framework to sustain high barrier to entry for malicious actors.
- Identify opportunities/sources for new signals, automation, and workflow improvements.
- Provide on-call coverage periodically and respond to escalations from internal and external parties within designated service levels.
- Analyze ads call chain to identify different entities (DSP, SSP, Ad Exchange, etc.). Identify and enforce on accounts and creatives. Identify spam patterns and develop regular expressions and signatures.
- Review or be exposed to sensitive content occasionally.
