In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to build the Pixel phone cameras’ optical components which integrate both Google’s computational photography algorithms and hardware technologies.
The Camera Hardware team inside the Technical Engineering Imaging and Vision group is responsible for developing camera hardware for Google’s consumer products. As a Camera Optics Engineer, you will drive definition, design, development, and integration of camera optics for Google’s consumer products.
You will have the responsibility of owning the entire lifecycle of the project including technology and product development with third-party vendors. You will define design, testing and qualification plans for the camera optics/ambient light sensor at different stages of the development. You will also validate optical parts at different product development stages at the lab and drive the third-party vendors to improve product performance.
