Google Hiring for Cellular Systems Engineer, Power/Performance at Mountain View, CA Full Time
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Cellular technologies including LTE, UMTS and 5G NSA/SA (Sub6, mmW).
- Experience with power management architectures for cellular mobile platforms.
- Experience with Wireless Protocols (LTE).
Preferred qualifications:
- MS/PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience on launching consumer products with cellular technology embedded.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python, Shell, Batch).
- Understanding of interfaces specifications and power saving techniques.
- Ability to maintain a power dashboard for cellular use cases.
- Ability to optimize power consumption across SOC, RF, Protocol layers.
About the job
As part of the team, you’ll have the ability to influence, drive and work with the latest cellular modems (e.g., 5G) for Pixel phones. You’ll also have the opportunity to propose new functionalities and/or improve the current algorithms in order to achieve high end power and performance. In the process, you’ll learn and work across the several OSI layers starting from physical layer up to application layer (i.e., Android).

- Deliver on power solutions for cellular modems and cellular performance
- Manage a cellular power dashboard, optimizing power across RF, Modem, and Protocol layers
- Be able to understand mobile power management and architecture
- Conduct measurements for cellular power/performance
