Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience as a facilities manager or operations manager or chief engineer including leading technical teams.
- Experience in site-level data center or mission critical facility management.
Preferred qualifications:
- 15 years of New Product Introduction, Testing, and/or product quality oversight
- Experienced in managing different team disciplines and leading across levels
- Track record of solving problems as global scale
- Experience operating within a global frame work (multi-national experiences)
- Comfortable working throughout the organizational struction

Google isn’t just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google’s powerful search technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components and take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting.
Your team will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google’s Linux cluster). They will also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. They may lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.
Together we operate and transform the world’s leading data centers. The Central Operations team globally manages programs and standards across the Data Center Infrastructure Operations fleet.
The Central Operations function provide execution support (e.g. Incident Management, Fleet Deployment, Spares, Maintenance Planning, New Product Introduction, and Business Operations) along with various program oversight (e.g. Operational Assessments, Data Quality, Business Process Support) and transformation program partnership with the field operations teams.

Responsibilities
- Focus on leadership, management, strategy, and execution in the space of compute infrastructure (servers and associated hardware) of New Product Introduction (NPI), Hardware Acceptance Testing (HAT), and Server Infrastructure – Quality and Reliability support.
- Manage three primary functions: HAT, NPI, and Quality. This will include cross team / functional coordination. This work includes bringing new products from concept to production readiness, along with continued support and learning on various aspects of systems.
- Contribute to the overall direction and operational success of our Data Center teams, providing input on the Central Operations strategy, collaboration across pillars, and execution of key business initiatives.
- Contribute to overall support and execution activities in the space of Google Data Centers (GDC) Central Ops teams.
