Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with system development processes (e.g., component selection tradeoffs, symbol creation, schematics, board design development, bring-up, debugging, etc).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with OEM/ODM/Joint Design Manufacturers/Contract Manufacturer partners and with industry standard CAD tools.
- Experience with CPU internal architecture, software development from firmware through system level, and security.
- Experience with high speed design and standard RF/WiFi interfaces at chipset, baseband, and antenna integration levels.
- Understand entire product development process for mass-volume production design, with a focus on design for manufacturing and design for test.

As a Chrome OS Partner Engineer, you will design, develop and deploy Chrome hardware alongside with original equipment manufacturer (OEM)/original design manufacturer (ODM)/System on a Chip (SoC) partners. You will define system and printed circuit board (PCB) constraints and requirements, oversee physical engineering design layout, and work cross-functionally on system integration, mechanical design, and product to deliver systems to production.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and/or review portable computers and their sub-components from concept to mass production.
- Drive resolution of cross-functional issues including those related to architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (schematic design and review, PCB layout, and overall system integration).
- Work with Engineering/Qualification teams on system bring up and design validation, and with the Support team in debug and failure analysis investigation.
- Communicate and guide partners to design products based on our reference and hardware requirements.
