Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in data and project management.
- Experience with Finance systems, data concepts, and business processes.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in data quality, metadata data management, data discovery, reporting, and analytics.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, advanced spreadsheet software skills, and experience with Python, R and/or an Object Oriented programming language.
- Solid understanding of accounting processes and terminology, complemented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Effective problem solving, process improvement, and analytical skills.
- Ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals and align data initiatives with the overall Finance strategy.
- Ability to translate business objectives into actionable analyses.
About the job
As a Data and Systems Architect, you will shape and execute on a transformation that has high impact on the business; contributing to Finance’s future system strategy and working closely with Finance leaders to transform Finance processes. You will be responsible for developing and streamlining Finance data processes, data governance, and policy development. You will work closely with Finance leads as well as Product and Corporate Engineering to execute on various finance data strategies. You will play a critical role in developing and executing a plan for overall data architecture, data security, data quality, and data governance.
Responsibilities
- Drive data quality analysis, reporting, and monitoring across Finance’s core processes and data assets.
- Design and develop scalable prototypes of self-serve data tools, ETLs, and other infrastructure enhancements to offer high-quality solutions to satisfy immediate needs.
- Partner with Product and Corporate Engineering to drive the long-term development of Google’s financial data infrastructure, including data warehousing, reporting, and analytics platforms.
- Initiate and drive cross-functional financial systems projects to improve the visibility, profitability, and risk profile across Google. Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, identify gaps, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details to drive decision-making.
- Establish data dictionary and authoritative sources for the core data elements required to drive Finance processes.
