The Developer Relations organization helps keep us connected to the communities that love technology as much as we do. Our focus is on supporting developers who build applications and businesses on Google’s platforms. In this role, your work will foster a community of developers working with Google technologies and help to drive strategy around Developer Relations.
The Material Design Advocacy team, as part of Developer Relations, supports the success of Material Design and design excellence on Google’s platforms. Our team of design and developer advocates create content, resources, and engagement to help people create great user experiences.
Material Design is an unified design system that combines design theory, engineering resources, and tools for building software. The design system works across platforms and supports all of Google’s products, and also supports designers and developers inside and outside of Google.
As a Developer Relations Manager for the Material Design Advocacy team, you will lead a team of both design advocates and developer advocates. You’ll play a key role in shaping how we bring new Material Design capabilities to designers and developers, while partnering with teams across Material Design to advocate the needs of developers, driving our strategy, narratives, best practices, events, and outreach globally. You will collaborate with the Material Design team including product managers, designers, and engineers, and present and communicate your ideas and process to large audiences.

We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems.
