Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of experience in engineering
- Experience with full stack systems and engineering processes at scale
- Experience with server-side programming, servers, and distributed systems at scale
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the TV, media, or consumer space
- Experience with analytics and ads infrastructure
- Experience with machine learning and algorithms

As the Director, Engineering, you will oversee recommendations, personalization, analytics, and drive cross-product area architecture alignment, planning, and execution across all Google TV initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive engineering for server-side infrastructure, recommendation services for content personalization, Google-wide content integrations, and analytics across the Google TV organization.
- Provide technical vision and strategy for the team and design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short and long-term technology investments.
- Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and other Engineering teams to create, drive, and deliver an innovative, compelling, and user-friendly experience across the Google TV platform.
- Drive collaboration across all product areas (e.g., YouTube, Search, Google Assistant, Google Play, Google Fit, etc.), including navigating complex constraints to make key launches happen successfully.
- Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring, succession planning, and retention strategies for key talent in a fast growth, economic environment.
