Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in finance, management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar environment, including financial planning and analysis and project management experience, or 12 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience managing and scaling a team within a technology business.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading cross-functional project teams using problem-framing and problem-structuring skills, project management skills, and the ability to communicate insights to technical management teams.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, and experience in working with large datasets.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence effectively, combined with excellent business judgment.
- Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fast-paced environment; ability to work with ambiguity.
- Ability to maintain executive presence and perspective in the midst of changing timelines and rapid decision making.
- Long-term forward thinking skills, building scalable innovative solutions and deft operational abilities.
About the job
As the Director of Finance for Geo Expansion, you will be part of the Cloud Finance team that focuses on maximizing the Google Cloud growth while controlling risks. As part of the team, you will partner with the Cloud Product and Engineering teams to achieve ambitious growth goals through optimizing the existing data center center footprint and strategically designing the footprint of the future.
In this role, you will influence senior audiences and coordinate cross-functional teams.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial planning and analysis (FP&A) aspects of Geo Expansion.
- Lead a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with cross-functional senior leadership and teams that are responsible for launching new regions and growing existing regions to meet and exceed Google Cloud’s long term profitability goals.
- Improve existing processes to drive greater transparency for finance leadership and strengthen finance oversight on approvals. Launch new processes to uncover financial performance of data centers versus business plans and annual operating plans.
- Own quarterly Google Cloud business projections for each data center, which are used for long term data center capacity planning. Present gross margin impact and own the process to refresh regional profits and losses on a quarterly basis.
