Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with C++ programming and development.
- Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Networking protocols, embedded Linux, and device drivers.

Fuchsia is a new operating system, being built from the ground up to rethink how computing should work in a modern world. The Connectivity team focuses on the network stack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wired and wireless technologies.
As an Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership to major projects, and also manage a team of engineers. You will optimize your own code and make sure engineers are able to optimize theirs. You will be leading Bluetooth Core and shaping the future of several new efforts in our roadmap.
In this role, you will work on a new, secure, reliable, and flexible Bluetooth stack. This is a unique opportunity to implement a widely popular connectivity stack, placing a particular emphasis on stability, security, and flexibility, from device drivers and core services to UX and integration with third-party services, in addition to working on multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Bluetooth core team, mentoring and training the team members on design techniques, and coding standards.
- Develop a strategy and execution plan for new efforts in our roadmap, including embedded platforms.
- Work closely with the overall Bluetooth technical lead, and be a bridge between Bluetooth core and new and existing profile developments.
- Take ownership of major Bluetooth core components and drive them from architecture to implementation.
- Contribute to design, development, code reviews, bug triage, and team documentation.
