Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience optimizing for performant software solutions, Android, Server-Side Programming, Enterprise Software Architecture, Performance Optimization
- Experience with full-stack feature development, and minimally require experience on either server-side or Android development.
- Familiarity and experience with gaming/mobile gaming.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to build alignment.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Grow and lead a team of engineers developing new full-stack features for the games vertical on Google Play Store.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, UX, and partner teams to envision, plan, and execute on a multi-year roadmap for new games features in Google Play.
- Own the technical vision for end-to-end systems to deliver transformative experiences on the Google Play Store.
