Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of experience in communications in a business, media, entertainment, or technology environment with a focus on internal and executive communications
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience advising executives in mission-critical moments
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams
- Ability to be a critical thinker and grasp/communicate about complex technical systems and topics
- Ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Excellent program management, communication, presentation, and copy editing skills combined with video, graphics, or other multimedia skills

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.
Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.
The Google Data Center (GDC) Communications team provides guidance and timely employee and public communications to strengthen the GDC culture and help achieve business goals.
We manage internal and external-facing communications such as presentations, emails, and meetings, incident response communications, GDC intranet, Google Data Centers site, production and curation of images and videos, and public GDC presentations such as An Insider’s Look: Google’s Data Centers.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative strategies for communicating to employees, taking into account the needs of different audiences.
- Provide guidance and clear, timely leadership communications to strengthen the GDC culture and advance critical business goals.
- Develop, write, and edit communications for executives, including emails, FAQs, and presentations.
- Craft internal communications plans, execute on tactics, and deliver timely outcomes.
- Influence executives and provide advice that reflects a grasp of their business and leadership styles.
