Supply Chain Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Supply Chain Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global – and growing – infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google’s bottom line.
As a Global Supply Chain Manager, you will interface with internal Engineering and Product teams as well as our external suppliers to develop and deliver electro-mechanical commodities like optics and custom connectors. As the main contact for contract negotiations and supplier management, you will build consensus with both internal and external stakeholders, including Product Management, Hardware Engineering, Industrial Design, Quality Engineering, and Operations teams. You will also lead and support the development implementation, and management of global strategies to provide optimal pricing, flexibility, quality, and supply assurance.
To be successful in this role, you will depend on your industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize the total cost of our products globally, as any saving on just one piece of hardware will be significant at the scale that Google operates.
