The goal of the quantum algorithms team is to identify and discover the most promising applications of quantum computers, and to push the development of the quantum algorithms that enable those applications. We work closely with the quantum error-correction team to estimate and optimize the resources that would be required to realize these calculations on a fault-tolerant quantum computer. We also work closely with experimentalists on our team to implement some of our algorithms on existing quantum processors.
