Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of relevant sales, product or marketing leadership experience, in strategic revenue management roles, product management or marketing roles (e.g., GTM, Product Manager, Sales Leader).
- Experience managing teams.
- Experience communicating across cross-functional partners (Marketing, Product, Sales, etc.) at all levels of management.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or related graduate degree.
- Experience managing in a matrixed environment in a global capacity, balancing local nuances with global scalability.
- Experience with strategic thought leadership, with the ability to drive sales excellence and operational/product structure and devise new and simplify existing go-to-market models.
- Deep knowledge of and passion for Google Cloud products and offerings.
- Ability to serve as a beacon for exceptional diverse talent, develop leadership and management excellence across the organization, and both attract and retain talent.
About the job
As Managing Director, Product Activation, Google Cloud, you will be responsible for coordinating, aligning and optimizing the Go-to-Market of our organization’s portfolio across a dynamic set of high-performing businesses. You will partner with executives across the Data Management Organization and with other cross-functional teams to craft an innovative product go-to-market strategy for Google Cloud’s Database, Data Management and Analytics business across Cloud products (i.e BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, Looker, etc). You will accelerate growth by working collaboratively with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive product adoption, empowering them with compelling sales resources, and incorporating customer feedback to shape the product roadmap. The key areas of accountability include constantly improving the experience for our data products, simplification of contracting, creating product bundles, driving enablement, and supporting marketing programs.

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Solutions Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to coordinate, track and optimize marketing and promotion of multiple data products in combined bundles as well as through programs.
- Optimize the sales experience by removing friction points that lengthen the business process time by analyzing funnel statistics, interviewing sales reps, performing win/loss analysis, etc.
- Define Data Management product go-to-market strategies, identify key market trends and customer opportunities, and manage programs to execute against those strategies by partnering with sales leadership at a global level.
- Work jointly with Marketing, Sales, and Product to assess and refine the product positioning and messaging in materials and digital properties.
- Establish closed-loop analytics with Sales to understand how our combined portfolio turns into customer and business growth.
