Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, science, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of work experience in product/engineering in enterprise or consumer products
- Experience as a manager of managers, leading globally distributed teams and working cross-functionally
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience as an investor in the technology industry either in corporate development, venture capital, private equity or as an angel investor
- Experience and or familiarity with Silicon Valley venture industry, but deep bench of relationships with founders/engineers/investors
- Experience as a founder of a start-up or very early employee of a successfully-sold company
- Demonstrated ability to influence all levels of management cross-functionally and externally; ability to make things happen quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid and collaborative environment
- A passion for technology, familiarity with the latest innovations and relationships across startup ecosystem

Area 120 is a startup incubator. We invest in small, diverse teams of entrepreneurial Googlers that spend 100% of their time building new Google products and services.
We source ideas and teams through both a regular bottom-up application process inside Google and through partner-led approaches both internal and external to Google.
As the Managing Partner for Area 120 you are responsible for every aspect of its success. From setting long-term strategy, to making smart investment decisions and managing the day to day operations of the Program. You will recruit and lead a set of high-performing partners that identify, invest in and mentor small teams. You will drive and oversee the operational complexities of innovating inside a larger corporation like Google. And you will be the face of the program, to Google Leads, Executives across Google, and to the public.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Area 120 Partners and Operational teams
- Drive Area 120’s long-term strategy, funding and operations
- Be the final decision maker for all Area 120 investments
- Own the relationship with Google Leads and Product leadership
- Attract talent from both inside and outside Google as Founders-In-Residence and team leads
