Google Hiring for Network Engineer, Webpass at San Francisco, CA Full Time
Minimum qualifications:
- 3 years of switched network experience in a Network Engineering role
- Experience with switched network implementation and managing IPv6
- Experience managing and maintaining network services (i.e. DNS, DHCP)
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols (i.e. OSPF and BGP)
Preferred qualifications:
- CCNA or CCNP certification
- Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Expect)
- Experience in network project management, from scoping through implementation
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with our software, systems, and network engineering teams

The Google Fiber Webpass Network Operations team is dedicated to providing our customers a simple, fast, and reliable internet service. As part of the Webpass team, you will participate in the configuration, monitoring, maintaining, and outage response of our network infrastructure to keep our network running smoothly for our customers. You will collaborate cross-functionally with many other teams to ensure the timely implementation and expansion of our network. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help reshape and revolutionize the way people think of their Internet provider.

Responsibilities
- Configure, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure
- Improve monitoring to proactively identify potential network deficiencies
- Respond to network outages in a timely manner and participate in outage response on-call rotation
- Evaluate protocols and device firmware/software to improve network performance and stability
- Participate in the scoping, design, and implementation of network related projects and design
