Minimum qualifications:
- 12 years of business experience in a related field.
- 2 years of experience managing or leading teams, providing technical and team leadership.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (SQL).
- Experience with visualization tools or platforms such as; Dashboards, DasNav, Tableau, Power BI, QlikView.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (Economics, Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data. Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations.
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
About the job
The Google Procurement Organization’s (GPO) goal is to unlock value for Google to reinvest in what matters most. Within GPO, you will support the Center of Excellence team who is responsible for developing, deploying, and ingraining best practices throughout the organization related to activities such as procurement process, systems, metrics, reporting or training; building infrastructure for the team. In this role, you will navigate ambiguity, collaborate with multiple teams, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or benchmarking internal spend drivers with external market intelligence, will be used by GPO to make strategic decisions around systems, tools, and supplier strategy. More specifically, you will be tasked with building forecasts, efficiency models, and organization-wide reporting infrastructures. You will gather insights into spend and budget consumption patterns across teams, synthesize and deliver them via concise presentations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of data analysts supporting the Center of Excellence, which provide foundational support for GPO, develop a cohesive charter, and identify and execute changes that improve team performance.
- Research new ways of modeling data to unlock actionable procurement insights and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
- Make business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
- Be involved from project inception to design through to delivery and promoting adherence, all while building and expanding strong relationships with key business stakeholders to understand and influence their current and future supply base requirements.
- Define, lead, and project manage by bringing together/interpreting internal and external data to produce insightful findings matched to business requirements.
