Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years experience in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with computer aided design (CAD) and mechanical simulation tools.
- Experience with mechanical design of plastic/metal components, printed circuit boards (PCB), flexible printed circuits (FPC), and acoustics used in consumer electronic products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with machine shop tools, fabrication techniques (rapid prototyping), consumer product development, and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with NX or Teamcenter (with proficiency in CAD), manufacturing techniques, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Familiarity with electromechanical assemblies (e.g., liquid-crystal display (LCD), organic light-emitting diode (OLED), batteries, sensors, FPC, PCB, antennas, buttons, etc.).
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, tolerance analysis, and structural finite element analysis (FEA).
- Excellent communicator, problem-solver, and analytical thinker with the ability to design with plastics/metals and make data-driven decisions.

As a mechanical engineer, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.
As a Product Design Engineer, you will help impact and shape electronics by balancing comfort, performance, and appearance. You will work on a team that balances these in an innovative and harmonious design that complements and enables the technology.
You will work on the borders of risk, actively communicating among a team to establish a design direction and create prototypes to scale.

Responsibilities
- Manage the subsystem and/or individual consumer electronics part designs from concept to production.
- Work with global manufacturing suppliers/partners of subsystems, driving individual part design from concept to production. Travel to meet with suppliers.
- Build and troubleshoot prototypes, analyze results of reliability testing, iteratively improve the design, and bring to production.
- Create and publish detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings for design models. Search for and select materials, components, and sub-systems for products.
- Design for function, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and cosmetic requirements.
