Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of relevant hardware quality experience in consumer electronics, automotive or other commercial/industrial products.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
Preferred qualifications:
- Six Sigma Blackbelt, American Society for Quality certification (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA) or equivalent certification/experience.
- 10 years of relevant hardware experience with cloud servers and network systems.
- Experience leading successful cross-functional continuous improvement teams using practical approaches, with experience in technical leadership and executive communication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes, and test/debug methods.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as DFMEA/PFMEA, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto charts, Scatter diagrams, and Box plots.
- Excellent data analytics skills to enable deep dives into test data, with knowledge of R and/or SQL dashboards.
About the job
As a Product Quality Engineer supporting Google technologies, you will join the team responsible for setting and managing the product quality standards and metrics for Google’s Data Center equipment. You will be a quality expert with extensive experience establishing quality programs from the ground up. You will understand the tools and techniques used to introduce new products, and will work cross-functionally to drive product improvements through the entire product life cycle. You will take new technologies from design concept through production, and lead continuous improvement programs on products through the full product life cycle.

Responsibilities
- Establish, deliver and maintain product quality standards for Google’s Data Center technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes or developing new as required.
- Own product quality through Google’s supply chain and into the field. Manage product quality and initiation of investigation and resolution of product failures, driving continuous improvement with quality processes.
- Build quality models for new products and evaluate product quality. Use results to drive product and process improvements.
- Work with the cross-functional teams at Google to ensure new products and supporting systems have been designed to provide the data required to manage product quality. Establish and refine systems, dashboards and metrics to facilitate a data-driven approach to problem resolution.
