Google Hiring for Product Quality Engineer, Google Cloud at Sunnyvale, CA Full Time

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in quality of computing hardware, including engineering issue resolution.
  • Experience in cloud hardware infrastructure systems.
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization using tools (e.g., JMP, Python, SQL, etc.).


Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
  • Certification in CRE/CQE (Certified Reliability/Quality Engineer).
  • 10 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Product Engineering of cloud hardware technology or electronic hardware systems.
  • Experience with advanced statistical or statistics based methodologies (e.g., design of experiments, statistical process controls, six sigma).
  • Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.

About the job

As a Product Quality Engineer, you will evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures to help continuously improve the products and manufacturing processes. You will work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams, Product Operations and Supply Chain teams. You will work with cross-functional teams. You will own and break down complex problems into steps that drive product development and manufacturing in a fast-paced environment, providing solutions and strategic direction. You will earn trust through rolling up sleeves and translating technical proficiency into a measurable impact on the quality of Google compute hardware.

Additional information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$193,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Engineering for multiple high complexity compute products, from qualification through large scale deployment, that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership, set priorities and drive resolution of complex technical issues for a robust product quality and predictable field deployment.
  • Analyze manufacturing and field data to extract actionable insights and areas of opportunity for continuous improvement.
  • Initiate, drive, and implement innovative product, process, tools development/improvement projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Monitor, review and present product performance data and metrics to stakeholders in a concise and clear way that enables data-driven decision making.
